Assembling Wheels

  • Separate the wheels parts.
  • For one wheel you will need
    • one round piece with rounded middle hole;
    • one round piece with motor shaft middle hole;
    • one small squared piece with rounded middle hole;
    • one small squared piece motor shaft middle hole;
    • four middle puzzle pieces
  • Begin with the round hole, putting some glue in the hatched area.
  • Then insert some middle puzzle pieces horizontally, over the glue.
  • Complete the crossing pattern putting the other two middle puzzle pieces together.
  • Fill the internal edge around the round hole with glue, preparing to put the squared round holed piece in the middle.
  • Press it in the middle of the set.

  • Keep filling the internal hole, around the round internal edge, with glue, now to put the motor shaft holled square piece.
  • Put some pressure in the set to be sure the glue will do it’s job.
  • Now put glue on the hatched area on the other round piece, and do make a sanduich with the other pieces.
  • Make sure that the motor shaft holes are aligned!
  • Keep pressing the new wheel for a while, and then put some books or something heavy on it for a couple minutes, to be sure that it will not fall apart.
  • Prepare the plumbing rubber band.
  • Envolve the wheel with the rubber band.
  • Voilá! Now you have a brand new Decabot wheel!

Putting the wheels in position without motors

You must disconnect the shell cover from the internal chassis, through unlocking the bottom cover.

  • You can fix wheels in your robot even without the motors.
  • To do this you must use the four dummy shaft pieces.
  • Remove the motor cover on both sides of the chassis.
  • Insert the vertical dummy shaft (marked with a arrow pointing down).
  • You need to make some pressure so the piece will fix in position.
  • Then position in place the horizontal dummy shaft, crossing the vertical one.
  • The result is a cross shaft who fits in the round wheel hole.
  • You can now put the two wheels in position.
  • Your Decabot chassis is ready!
  • Connect the shell with the chassis again, and don’t forget to lock the bottom cover.
